Coffee table

We made this a month ago but I just haven't blogged about it yet. Sorry I'm slow but I thought that I would share my beautiful coffee table that Brandon and I made.

My neighbors and I have been obsessed with this new blog knockoffwood.blogspot.com she gives tutorials on how to do your own woodworking. And I LOVE IT!! I get so excited when I read her blog about new wood projects when we move to Tennessee I would love to do more, I would do more now but since we are moving soon I don't want to have to move it all. Anyway my neighbors made shelves and Brandon and I made a coffee table. We love our coffee table it turned out much better than I imagined ( I was so nervous to make it because I had never made anything with wood before in my life so I didn't have very high expectations of our first project) Thankfully I have an AMAZING husband who was willing to do a lot of work. My neighbors and I went to Home depot together and got the wood and had them cut everything. Basically we walked in handed a guy the list of materials that we needed and how they needed to be cut (that we printed off of the blog) and we literally walked around with him and watched him do everything for us. He was so nice and so willing to help it was great. I still wouldn't be able to tell you where the wood was in the store or anything that's how clueless I was, and still am. Anyway, we assembled everything together that same day and sanded and painted/stained a few days later. It was so much fun. I highly recommend the blog. You can save so much money as well. Pottery barn sells the same type of coffee table for $300 and all the materials and everything only cost us about $40. I am so happy with what we did. Here are some pictures to show the process so you know that we really did in fact make it our selves.

Here is our frame and my neighbors working on their bookshelves in our apartment.
Brandon screwing in the screws He really was amazing in this whole project!
My neighbors finished bookshelf (they made 4 all together ) they are awesome and so easy we can't wait to make our own book shelves.
Our coffee table all put together.
The final project!! I am so pleased with our table I still can't believe that we did it!! Thanks to knockoffwood.blogspot.com. You all should really check it out!!

The Nu Renu!!!

Ever since I can remember I have been using Renu contact solution. All of the other brands have always caused itchiness and irritation (much like a Walmart brand diaper) for me. And also as long as I could remember it has come in the same white plastic non-see through bottle. This was exciting for me because I thrive on mystery!! For this same reason I love CSI, Cracker Jacks, and Spam! Something about me not being able to see inside thrilled me, perhaps there were little Renu "faeries" that flew around inside the bottle to produce the non-itchy formula? Who knows? Well now Renu just came out with there new generation bottle for 2010!! Completely clear and translucent to the fact that it is not a mystical aqueous home for magical faeries!!! However now there will be no guessing how much longer one bottle is going to last, I can now say to Diedre "the Renu is at the 3.4 mL line, time to put it on our shopping list" thus preventing the uncomfortable feeling of having to use spit in your case one night because your "Renu happy wife" used up the last few drops without any warning!! In short my functionality side loves the new bottle, but my mysterious side hates it!!!

Valentines Day

Well today was Valentines Day and it was a whole lot of fun. Diedre first woke Krew and I up (correction: Krew did the waking up) and made us a very romantic crepe and sausage breakfast. It was probably one of the greatest breakfasts that I have ever had. Although Krew kept stuffing bits of the crepes down his diaper... I just figured he was cutting out the middleman!!! Anyway it was a fabulous morning. Since Krew and I had to say thank you for the breakfast I was trying to think of the best way to show her we appreciated her hard work and all I could think of was to flex our muscles for her and that would let her know how much we loved her. That's all women really want right? "Tickets to the Gun Show"!!! Krew is pretty darn cute in this one so we thought we would share. Then I had to go to a bunch of meetings for church while Diedre took care of Krew and began work on our romantic dinner. As far as gifts are concerned I got Diedre this penguin balloon, a single red rose, and a puzzle made from one of our engagement pictures. She got me some stuff for a game that I like to play (which we will keep anonymous since most people that read this will just make fun of me for it). Then once we got home from church Diedre had chicken cordon bleu and baked sweet potatoes for dinner. Anyway I guess I will just take this time to express my love for my beautiful wife. I am so glad that she married me and that she has such a sexy body!! Till the next holiday... Goodbye!!!

Just to clarify

I realized that I wrote in our next sons name Grey. His full name is going to be Barton Graham Sloan, but we have decided to nickname him Grey since it has been a little confusing who we are talking about sometimes when we talk about Barton (since Brandon's brothers name is Barton). Just letting everyone know if they thought it was a little confusing.

9 weeks left

I can't believe that I only have 9 weeks left of this pregnancy, It has gone by so fast which is good and bad at the same time I feel like I have so much to do before Grey comes, and so little time. I did take pictures to show his growth though so I thought I would share how big he is getting. This pregnancy has been going pretty well. I feel really good and hoping that it will only continue.
Me at around 10 weeks maybe a little more

Me at 20 weeks

and me now at 30 weeks

Krew really does love his brother! He gives him kisses all the time!!

Silly Krew

Here are a few funny things that Krew has been doing lately.
He LOVES shoes, every time there is a shoe around he wants to have them on, when he put my high heels on I just had to take a picture, Wedding video here we come!
Here is Krew dancing at my friend wedding, He had a blast dancing! He wanted to be up by the crowd of people dancing but I was afraid he would get trampled because no one would be able to see him.
Krew loves to sing once the was a snowman, he asks to sing it almost everyday. He is so fun! Oh I love this kid!! I am so grateful to have him in my life!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!!

Michelle's Wedding

Krew and I went to my old roommates wedding a couple of weeks ago we had a BLAST! But it was very exhausting. She got married in the Salt lake Temple, she married a guy that she has been best friends with for like 6 years, they served their missions together, and their mission president sealed them. It was really neat (their mission pres. by the way is President Hinckley's son) he shared some great storied about his parents and everything. I think my favorite thing he said was "Some one asked my mom how they had such a great marriage and she said 'I lowered my expectations' " I thought that was pretty cool. Anyway here are a few pictures from that long but great weekend!

The happy couple

Funny story:Krew kept following this girl around and making her dance with him it was so funny every time she would try to get away he would chase her down and grab onto her sleeves. He sure dose love the girls.
