Brandon had his interview at Houston university and it went GREAT!! After the interview the dean of the school (optometry program) asked Brandon to meet with him in his office. The dean then told Brandon that he was going to give him an offer he couldn't refuse! He accepted him on the spot and said that if he comes to Houston then he will give him in state tuition (out of state tuition is $30,000, in state tuition is $18,000) and two scholarships adding up to $3,000 a year. so instead of us paying $30,000 a year we would end up only paying $15,000 I can't believe it it's so AMAZING!! So because of the offer we are thinking a little differently. Houston is now one of our top choices. We are so excited. But we will see after Brandon gets back from his interview in Memphis we seem to be changing our minds a LOT lately. It's been a BIG relief to know that he is already accepted to a school though I don't feel like we are as stressed out as we have been. I am so proud of Brandon and all that he has accomplished. He works so hard and all that hard work is paying off!! Way to go hun I love you.
Another exciting adventure happened to me while Brandon has been gone. Saturday morning we woke up had breakfast and then started to watch Baby signing time, this video has been Krew's favorite lately, we watch it probably 5 times a day it's the first thing he asks for when he wakes up, well that and a banana. he turns to me and signs baby and then nods his head yes trying to encourage me to say yes then goes to the t.v and turns it on then repeats the signing baby and nodding his head yes, It's really cute and I'm glad that he's starting to be able to communicate with me what he wants, but 5 times a day is quite a lot. Sorry got a little side tracked back to my story. While we were watching baby signing time I started to hear some rustling in the blinds, at first I just thought I was hearing things but it kept happening so I looked in the blinds and there was a mouse (it was stuck in a sticky trap so really all I saw was it's tail wiggling) I never knew that I was afraid of mice until that day. I FREAKED out I called Brandon bawling becuase I didn't know what to do. If he were here he would have just taken care of it and I wouldn't have to worry about it. He told me to get some tongs and a trash bag and just put him in the bag. Yeah right I couldn't even get close to it, so the other option was to go to my neigbors (8:00 in the morning on a saturday) and ask him to remove the rodent for me. I ran upstairs still shaking and asked my neigbor and of course he was willing to help. He romoved it!! Oh I was so grateful I still am thank you Jason I really appreciate it!! anyway, it's gone now but I'm still a little freaked out that I'm going to wake up to another mouse, but very glad this one is gone.

Another interview
Brandon got another interview!! We are so excited, this interview is in Memphis which is one of our top choices so we are ecstatic!! We spent a lot of the day yesterday trying to figure out flights and a rental car end everything. He scheduled his interview for Mon September 28th. So these next couple of weeks are going to be CRAZY. This is our schedule for the next couple of weeks.
Brandon flies out tomorrow for his first interview (keep in mind that we have to drive 3-4 hours just to get to an airport from Rexburg) in Huston and then is flying from Huston to Illinois to go visit his grandma and wont be back till Tuesday the 22nd. Then Friday 25th I fly out to go visit my sister in New Mexico. Sunday 27th Brandon flies out to Tennessee flies back Monday at midnight (so I guess more like Tuesday) And still has to make his Tuesday classes which start at 9 am. I don't come back until Oct. 9th. Which is probably a good thing so that Brandon can concentrate on his homework from the classes that he has missed. It's going to be hard to be away from him for that long but we are excited and feel very blessed to have these interviews. I am so proud of Brandon and all that he has acomplished!! I know they are just going to love him. Who doesn't? He's pretty much the most AWESOME person in the world!! I love you babe!! GOOD LUCK!!!

University of Houston
GOOD NEWS!! BUT NOT GREAT NEWS.... I just got a call yesterday afternoon from the admissions department of University of Houston College of Optometry. They asked me to come for an interview on one of the two first weekends of their interview process, so either the 4th of September or the 18th of September. So I am actually going the same weekend I am heading to Illinois to see Grandma Sloan, the 18th. The funny thing about getting an interview is that they don't even have my optomcas application (this is the centralized application process that will be sent out on September 7th to all of my schools). So all they have is my OAT scores and one essay that I sent directly to their school. Anyway so I already bought my flight and my rental car and Kirk's sister is letting me stay at her place in Houston for two nights. So wish me luck.

Beat the Toaster!!!
| I thought that it would fun for me to post the questions that I had to answer to win the prizes: For this one the questions were... 1) What state is home to the painted desert? 2)What U.S. city is home to the cable car museum? 3) What city in Europe are all 4 "Beatles" from? (I thought Meg would be very proud that I got this one right) The next prize that I won was 4 tickets to a cage match in Rigby Idaho: The questions were... 1) What does Miss Piggie and the Mona Lisa have in common? 2) What did Little Bo Peeps sheep lose? 3) What shoe do people put over their front doors for good luck? The last prize I got this summer were two tickets to see X Games 3D, and two tickets to "Post Grad": The questions were... 1) Spell Eee-j-i-pp-ed ( I can't spell out the question so this is a country in Africa) 2) Is the last scene in the Wizard of Oz in color? 3) Would you wear a chronometer on your body? And what is it? I hope you all do well... |

It's about time.......
...Krew earns his keep!
Usually when I'm doing the dishes Krew will just stand in front of the dishwasher and pulls out the silverware as I'm putting them in and throwing them on the floor(we don't use our dishwasher to wash our dishes we use it as a drainer). He has recently been pulling himself on the dishwasher door and standing on it so he can get to the dishes on top. Well I started to get sick of that it wasn't safe and it was annoying to have to wash dishes multiple time so I put him in the sink as I washed the dishes and he kept reaching for the sponge to wash the dishes so I let him wash a little bit. You would have thought I gave him the best prize ever, he LOVED it .
